We look forward to getting to know you and working together to provide a safe and positive learning experience for your child. We are proud to have received the highest level of scores from the Louisiana Department of Education. Our center is the premier full-service center in the Parish, including part-time care options, after school care, and transportation, etc. Our scope goes beyond the traditional definition of child care, our primary focus is being a learning center. Our center stands above the rest because we are open year round, 5 days a week and we only close for limited holidays. There is no need to worry about summer care for children and we all know how important it is to keep a routine. We provide home cooked healthy meal options, we are a technology free center and we offer children time in our organic garden. As a separate service our teachers will occasionally offer a parents “date night” babysitting service at our center throughout the year.
We are committed to creating a partnership with families that is collaborative and supportive and we will require your participation throughout the year through various volunteer opportunities. Please look for notices and information from your teachers for these opportunities. We are excited to work with you and your child and look forward to a wonderful school year. Please feel free to contact us anytime at the center 318-240-8898.
She came to us from Rapides Parish where she spent several years as a certified Pre-K teacher. Most of her experience was gained teaching Kindergarten and Pre-K. She was one of the highest scoring Pre-K teachers in the Parish. She was hand selected to be a member of the parish wide team that created curriculum modifications for teachers and it just so happens to be the curriculum we use at our center. Prior to that, she was a mental health specialist/therapist working with clients in and around the parish. Ms. Van Gossen has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northwestern University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Louisiana College. She is the mother of three awesome children, Addison, Ethan, and Charlotte, and a goofy labradoodle, Duke.
Ms. Jessica Arnouville is our Assistant Director and she has been with our center for 11 years! She started at ECDC as an assistant teacher and after she graduated from Ashworth College she jumped into a full-time teaching role, where she taught PreK 3 for several years years. When the Assistant Directors position became available she was clearly the right choice for the job. She is the mom of three spontaneous and amazing children Jaylen, Cameron and Bryce.
All of our staff must pass the Louisiana state 5-part background check prior to employment and we require they complete CPR/Pediatric First Aid Training on a continuing basis. We additionally require (12) hours of continuing education in various areas of child development and procedures annually.
As caregivers and educators, our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural desire to
explore, discover, create, and become a lifelong learner.
At ECDC, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child we serve. Our childcare experience is designed to promote each child’s own individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
The purpose of our education program is to provide quality care and instruction for children (Infant through Pre-K 4) that will promote their mental, physical, emotional, and social development. Each child is an individual, unique in his or her stage of development, learning style, and interpersonal relationships. Therefore, it is the goal of the teachers in our school to meet the diverse individual needs and interests of your children to develop their self image and feelings of self worth in a positive manner and enable them to reach out for new experiences and ideas.
